TSN.ca presents its latest weekly power rankings for the 2013-14 Barclays Premier League staff. Rankings were weighted evenly between separate lists made by TSN Radio host and soccer analyst Gareth Wheeler as well as TSN.cas soccer editors. 1. Arsenal (Last Week -3) Mesut Ozil was the story for the Gunners, having a hand in all three goals of their 3-1 victory over Stoke City. He is proving to be a very influential member of a squad that is currently playing at a championship level. Aaron Ramsey, Per Mertesacker and Bacary Sagna benefited from his lively play with goals in this contest. 2. Manchester City (LW - 6) City were dominant from beginning to end in a 4-1 victory over rival Manchester United in the first derby match of the season. Sergio Aguero scored twice for the home side while Yaya Toure and Samir Nasri also found the net in what was a strong statement from Manchester City. 3. Tottenham (LW- 4) Tottenham deserved all three points in their contest against Cardiff City and thanks to Paulinhos first Premier League goal three minutes into injury time they were successful. Hugo Lloris did not have to do too much work in the net but almost handled the ball outside of the box which would have had him sent off and changed the complexion of the contest. 4. Chelsea (LW- 5) For the first time in a month, the Blues were on the winning side of a Premier League contest when they dispatched Fulham 2-0. Chelsea dominated the contest and John Obi Mikel picked up his first league goal in the victory. Both Juan Mata and David Luiz failed to see action in the match. 5. Everton (LW- 7) The Premier Leagues last unbeaten side captured a very entertaining 3-2 victory over West Ham. Leighton Baines twice leveled the score for Everton before Romelu Lukaku headed home the winner in the 85 minute just after their opposition had been reduced to 10-men. 6. Manchester United (LW – 2) United were never able to get in gear as they fell to Manchester City in the Manchester derby. With Robin van Persie sidelined with an injury, United had trouble generating offence. Wayne Rooney was their one bright spot and scored the consolation goal late in the second half. 7. Liverpool (LW- 1) While they had more of the ball in their 1-0 loss to Southampton, Liverpool did not create enough chances on goal to really pressure their opponents. Victor Moses had a great chance saved by keeper Artur Boruc, who they were not able to beat. 8. Southampton (LW- 10) Dejan Lovren lifted his squad to a huge 1-0 victory over Liverpool. Keeper Artur Boruc made a few great saves to keep his team ahead in the match and Lovren was lucky to escape without conceding a penalty against Liverpools Daniel Sturridge. 9. Swansea City (LW -13) Michu set the tone early for the Swans as they cruised to a 2-0 victory over Crystal Palace. His goal, just two minutes into the contest, was his first league goal of the season coming off his breakthrough campaign last year. Realistically the scoreline in this game could have been much higher. 10. Stoke City (LW – 8) Not able to deal with the pace of Arsenal, Geoff Cameron scored the only goal for Stoke in a 3-1 loss to Arsenal. Though the possession numbers were even, Stoke was not able to create nearly the same number of scoring chances as their opposition in the loss. 11. Hull City (LW- 17) It took the Tigers a little while to get going in their eventual 3-2 victory over Newcastle. Sone Aluko picked up the winner in the 76th minute and they held on for the road victory. 12. Aston Villa (LW- 14) Keeper John Ruddy was forced into action early, saving a penalty in the sixth minute and Libor Kozak scored the winner in the 30th as Villa beat Norwich 1-0. These three points are the first for Aston Villa since their opening game victory over Arsenal. 13. Newcastle United (LW- 9) Poor defending in the end cost Newcastle in their 3-2 loss at the hands of Hull City. Loic Remy scored twice for the Magpies, but it was the backline and keeper Tim Krul who could not keep the winner out of the net in the end. 14. Cardiff City- (LW- 11) Under the gun from the beginning, it looked as though Cardiff was going to escape their match with Tottenham with a single point. Sadly, three minutes into injury time, their resolve broke and they found themselves beaten 1-0. 15. West Bromwich Albion (LW- 19) Stephane Sessegnon led the charge against his former team as West Brom beat Sunderland 3-0. The Baggies would control the action for the majority of the contest with Boaz Myhill earning the clean sheet. 16. West Ham United (LW- 12) Andy Carroll, Joe Cole and Stewart Downing all missed the 3-2 loss to Everton with injuries. Ravel Morrision and Mark Noble from the penalty spot were on target for West Ham. An 81st minute second yellow to Noble sealed their fate in the loss. 17. Norwich City (LW- 15) Robert Snodgrass had a chance from the penalty spot to put the Canaries ahead but was not able to convert the chance. Norwich had other chances throughout the contest but were not able to score in a 1-0 loss to Aston Villa. 18. Fulham (LW- 16) Darren Bent had the best chance for Fulham in their 2-0, west London derby loss to Chelsea but was not able to crack the scoreboard. Steve Sidwell also had a chance after his side was down a goal but once again could not find the goal. 19. Crystal Palace (LW - 18) With manager Ian Holloway banned from the touchline, Palace were overrun by Swansea in a 2-0 defeat. They trailed after just two minutes and were never able to get themselves back into the contest. 20. Sunderland (LW- 20) The 3-0 loss to West Brom proved to be the end of the line for manager Paolo di Canio who was fired following the defeat. At the fulltime whistle di Canio walked over to the supporters and gestured for them to keep their chins up, it was his final act in charge of the team. Authentic Cameron Payne Jersey . -- Arizona coach Bruce Arians says there \"were obviously very, very many problems\" with the officiating in the Cardinals 24-21 loss at Philadelphia. Authentic Bobby Portis Jersey ., climbed from seventh to fifth spot in womens competition Sunday at the ISU world junior figure skating championships. http://www.cheapbullsjerseysauthentic.com/?tag=authentic-scottie-pippen-jersey. \"I wasnt waving the pom-poms to be involved with it to start with,\" Carlyle said after a 5-2 win over Carolina on Sunday night. \"Its been a trying time. \"Specifically we havent played as well as wed like to hang our hat on. Authentic John Paxson Jersey . Paire broke Giraldo twice and lost his serve once in both sets to wrap up the win in 1 hour, 10 minutes. He will next face Pablo Carreno Busta of Spain, who advanced when Jurgen Zopp of Estonia retired with an injury at 5-5 in the first set. Authentic Toni Kukoc Jersey . And Richard Bachman, their rookie goalie, is facing a penalty shot a few seconds after the opening face-off. No pressure, right? Bachman stood his ground against Zack Kassian and saw the puck dribble off the Canuck rookies stick, then settled in and backstopped the Stars to a 5-2 win over Vancouver Tuesday that put Dallas in first place in the Pacific Division.LAS VEGAS, Nev. - Snowmobiling, race car driving, flying, wakeboarding, rock climbing. There arent many adventure itches that UFC lightweight Donald (Cowboy) Cerrone hasnt scratched. Prior to UFC 182 alone, the UFC Embedded video series has shown the 31-year-old free spirit piloting a Ferrari around a race track, snowmobiling in Colorado and doing barrel rolls in a small plane. Do I love it? No, UFC president Dana White said of Cerrones extensive extracurricular activities. But what are you going to do with this kid? Cerrone, who defeated former unbeaten Myles (Fury) Jury by unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) in the co-main event of UFC 182 on Saturday, is a thrill-seeker. I admire him. Hes a very very talented guy, White said of Cerrone, who has getting his pilots license on his bucket list. There isnt a thing this guy cant do. Cerrone (26-6 with one no contest) has no problems fighting. He is ranked fourth among 155-pound contenders and is riding a six-fight win streak. Cerrone is also a crowd-pleaser, as witnessed by his record 15 fight bonuses in the UFC and now-defunct WEC. Three of those - worth a combined US$150,000 - came in 2014 against Adriano Martins, Edson Barboza and Jim Miller. I dont know if Im at my peak, I cant answer that. But I feel like Im on my way, thats for goddamn sure, said Cerrone. His ultimate destination is a title fight. Current champion Anthony (Showtime) Pettis stopped Cerrone in the first round in January 2013 before he won the 155-pound crown. In the past, White has tried to corral Cerrones wild streak — mainly in a bid to keep his fighter in one piece. In 2013, for example, Cerrone survived a 12-metre rock-climbing fall. And even when the sports are safer, White isnt too keen on having his fighter push himself to the limit. You cant wakeboard five days in a row in the summer in Las Vegas and then expect to perform Saturday night, said White. You cant. The deal nowadays is supposed to be that Cerrone cuts down on his extracurricular activities 10 days before a fight, but it seems a loose agreement. They used to (object), Cerrone said of the UFC when asked what they think of his hobbies. They dont it so much any more. Wakeboarding is a particular favourite of the tattooed fighter with a penchant for Budweiser and cowboy hats. Cerrone counts Canadian pro wakeboarders Chad Sharpe and Rusty Malinoski in his circle of friends. He speaks to them two or three times a week and wakeboards year-round, often heading to Orlando to play with the pros.dddddddddddd So how good is Cerrone on the water? I like to say Im pretty damn good, he said. Cerrones post-fight plans include snowboarding in Colorado, although he says he wants to return to the cage sooner than later. His post-fight routine is to seek out White to learn the details of his next bout. Cerrones appetite for action is insatiable, with four fights in 2014 alone. Everyone talks about staying healthy but I get just as hurt as everybody else, he said. Its just I ask myself how far away is that injury from my heart? And it just pushes me through and lets me fight. Like right now, Im injured and Im still fighting. I dont care. As long as this is OK and this is OK, he said, pointing to his head and heart, Im good. While a notoriously slow starter, Cerrone is a dangerous fighter with punishing leg kicks and excellent submission skills. And at six foot one, he is tall for a 155-pounder. Originally from Colorado, where he still owns land, Cerrone lives up to his nickname. He owns a 40-acre ranch about 65 kilometres outside of Albuquerque, N.M., where he trains at the renowned Jacksons MMA gym. Always a work in progress, always, he said of the ranch. His busy fight schedule helps pay for any renovations, not to mention his fight camps. Cerrone estimates he spent $20,000 just to bring fighters in to help him train for Jury. But you figure would you spend 20 to make 100? Because I would. Cerrone landed in Albuquerque in 2007, coming down to help a friend, Leonard (Bad Boy) Garcia, get ready for his UFC 69 fight against Roger Huerta. I had no idea who Greg Jackson or what Albuquerque actually was. I just came down with him one day and never left, Cerrone said. Cerrone has planted roots. Hes already added his own gym at the ranch and is currently building a dorm building so he can bring in more fighters for training camps. Prior to the Jury fight, he had 10 people staying at the ranch to help him prepare. He trains in the morning with Jackson and then continues his workouts at the ranch. Cerrone has live-in help to look after the horses, chickens and other animals, not to mention the ATVs, motorcycles and other toys. I love the lifestyle, Cerrone said of being a fighter. It lets me to do all the crazy things I want to do. I cant give you an age or how much longer Im going to go but Im going to go until I cant any more.
